AMBCWA CONSTITUTION
Australia Malaysia Business Chamber (Western Australia) is established as a non-profit organisation that provides a range of services to its members relating to businesses supporting trade and investment links between Western Australia and Malaysia.
Malaysia was Western Australia’s 8th largest market for merchandise exports, 3rd largest market for international visitors and 3rd largest market for international students in 2019.
Western Australia exported $3.1 billion of merchandise to Malaysia in 2019. Petroleum accounted for 62 per cent of Western Australia’s merchandise exports to Malaysia in 2019, followed by iron ore (10 per cent) and alumina and bauxite (8 per cent).
Malaysia was Western Australia’s fifth largest import market in 2019, accounting for 7 per cent of the State’s merchandise imports. Western Australia imported $2.3 billion of merchandise from Malaysia in 2019. Petroleum accounted for 74 per cent of Western Australia’s merchandise imports from Malaysia in 2019, followed by machinery and transport equipment and other manufactures (17 per cent), chemicals (2 per cent), agriculture (2 per cent) and other goods (4 per cent).

WHAT WE DO
PARTNERING
AMBC WA supports partnering and investment between Malaysian and Australian businesses with a focus on Western Australia to take advantage of the commercial opportunities in both markets. AMBC WA awareness of trade and investment opportunities as well as projects and industry sectors that can support Malaysian and Western Australian businesses, can support members to achieve their commercial goals in both markets.
Networking
AMBC WA supports networking between Malaysian, Australian and Western Australian businesses as well as with other stakeholders including government, universities and researchers. AMBC WA networking includes hosting of functions to promote trade and investment between Malaysia, Australia and Western Australia that can support members to learn of new market opportunities that can lead to strategic alliances between businesses.
Providing Linkages
AMBC WA has links with the business community, government and the university sector and supports joint initiatives to improve relations between Malaysia and Australia. AMBC WA membership can take advantage of these linkages when seeking to develop new market opportunities between Malaysia, Australia and Western Australia.
