SARAWAK & WESTERN AUSTRALIA - Signing of an MOU
The Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) and the Australia Malaysia Business Chamber (AMBCWA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in recognising opportunities in Sarawak and Western Australia in promoting trade and investment for their respective business communities and cooperation in the establishment and development of commercial and industrial ties between the respective members and stakeholders of SBF and AMBCWA.
The President of Sarawak Business Federation, Dato Sri Abang Hj Abdul Karim bin Tun Abang Hj Openg and AMBCWA Vice President, Bernard Chia signed the MOU on a working visit to Sarawak by Bernard along with AMBCWA Secretary Nicole Tan. AMBCWA has an ongoing relationship with the Sarawak Government. The Sarawak Government is a sponsor of AMBCWA and has worked with AMBCWA on a number of trade and investment events, developed a Sarawak Western Australia Business Partnership Mission Market Research report in 2020 funded by the WA Government, discussed a trade and investment mission to be led by the Chief Minister of Sarawak to Western Australia and has been noted in media announcements by the Sarawak Government in Sarawak.
AMBCWA has also taken part in a Webinar for Business Matching between Sarawak and Western Australia in February 2022 with 153 participants covering Information Technology and Cyber Security, Agriculture, Food and Timber Industries and Renewable Energy, Hydrogen and Climate Solutions. AMBCWA also hosted the Hon Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah bin Ali Hasan, Deputy Chief Minister of the Sarawak Government at a meeting in Perth on 24th June 2022.
