Michael brings a wealth of experience spanning more than 28 years, with a multifaceted background in International Engagement and Strategy, Business Development, and Government Liaison. His career journey has been in both the public sector, notably with the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), and the private sector, across a range of sectors including food and agribusiness, road infrastructure, private and commercial banking, and professional consulting, stretching across Australia and the United Kingdom.
Michael has an expansive global network of business contacts having guiding clients toward international trade success, facilitating ventures across Western Europe, The Middle East, North America, and Asia. Michael’s professional career includes a 12-year tenure at Austrade, during which he served as the Trade Commissioner to India from 2007 to 2015. Additionally, he undertook a short-term diplomatic assignment in Malaysia in 2006, broadening his international experience and influence.
Michael was the President of the Australia India Business Council (WA Chapter) for six years (2018 – 2024) playing a pivotal role to forge stronger bilateral trade ties between Western Australia and India. Michael was invited to join the School of Business and Law MBA Consultative Committee, Edith Cowan University in August 2024.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from Curtin University, Western Australia.
