We are pleased to announce that Sam Lim, Australian Government Member of Parliament (MP) for Tangney in Western Australia together with Squire Patton Boggs and the Australia Malaysia Business Chamber WA (AMBCWA), are hosting an event on Australian Government Perspective on Trade and Investment Engagement between Malaysia and Australia and the Broader ASEAN Region on Monday 27th February 2023 from 5.00pm – 7.00pm at Squire Patton Boggs, Level 21, 300 Murray Street, Perth, including networking and refreshments.
Sam Lim was recently elected MP to the seat of Tangney during the Australian Federal election on 21 May 2022 to become part of the new Australian Government. Sam was born in Malaysia where he served for two years as a Police Constable with the Royal Malaysian Police Force, before leaving to become a dolphin trainer, and then running several small businesses. He has also worked in Perth, for the Western Australian Police Department where he had responsibility of assisting multicultural Asian groups. Sam speaks ten languages, including Malay, Mandarin Chinese, Indonesian and Burmese. At this event, Sam will speak on the new Australian Governments perspective on trade and investment between Malaysia and Australia and the broader ASEAN region which is pertinent to AMBCWA interest in supporting business ties between Malaysia and Western Australia.
