Australia Malaysia Business Chamber Western Australia (AMBCWA) met with Ramlee Bin Kariah, Deputy Director General from the State of Sabah and his Sabah delegation at the PwC Australia Perth Office on Friday 2nd June 2022 to discuss further trade and investment collaboration between Sabah and Western Australia, specifically in the agriculture sector. AMBCWA President, Keith Anthonisz welcomed the delegation followed by an AMBCWA presentation on areas of possible collaboration. AMBCWA supports exploring Sabah business links to Western Australia in industry areas including agriculture, food, energy and technology and the potential for business matching between Sabah and Western Australian businesses to support trade and investment.
AMBCWA acknowledges the support of Dr. Christopher Vas MBA GAICD from the Shire of Murray in working with AMBCWA on this opportunity to collaborate with the State of Sabah. The State of Sabah and Shire of Murray has signed a Statement of Intent agreement to support collaboration in regional development with the Shire of Murray and Sabah State to activate the Socio-Economic Development Through Regional Innovation (SEDRI) program for the visiting officers. Under this arrangement, government officials from Sabah will come to Western Australia to benefit from sharing knowledge and skills and help develop a positive relationship between the two regions.
